Enhancements to fuel quality control

Last updated Friday, May 10, 2024

The Government of Nunavut's Petroleum Products Division (PPD) is implementing measures to enhance fuel quality control, ensuring the highest standards.

In 2024, PPD introduced mid-year certification of gasoline, affirming that all samples meet or exceed Canadian General Standards Board specifications year-round. This aligns gasoline testing with aviation fuel standards.

To boost consumer engagement and responsiveness, PPD has established a dedicated email, @email, for inquiries or concerns regarding fuel quality.

PPD is also increasing access to testing services at laboratories to conduct more thorough investigations into reported quality control issues. An ongoing Request for Proposals (RFP) for expanded testing services, which includes fuel filters, is in progress to bolster our quality assurance efforts.
