Take Our Kids to Work Day 2021

Take Our Kids to Work Day will take place on Wednesday, November 3. This initiative is for students in Grade 9 to experience various diverse professions while exploring possible future career options.

There are more ways than ever for everyone to take part in this exciting day. This year there will be a mix of virtual and in-person work opportunities and activities.

The Department of Education values Take Our Kids to Work Day as it provides Grade 9 students an opportunity to:

  • Explore a variety of careers, industries, and sectors that compliments their Aulajaaqtut classes;
  • See what skills are important to thrive in the world of work;
  • Gain a better understanding of the many career choices open to them; and
  • Understand the importance of staying in school.

If in-person, masks must be worn when physical distancing of 3 metres cannot be maintained.

Some Nunavut schools may observe this activity on a different date to meet their school’s instructional needs.
