Premier Announces Changes to Public Service

IQALUIT, Nunavut (November 28, 2013) – Premier Peter Taptuna today announced changes to leadership at Qulliq Energy Corporation and the Department of Justice.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) President, Peter Mackey is leaving the Corporation, effective immediately. Mr. Norman Tarnow will be leaving the position of Deputy Minister of the Department of Justice, effective November 29, 2013.

"A new government is an opportunity to bring change and renewal to the public service. I have full confidence and trust in the strength of departmental management teams and their ability to lead the operations of the public service," said Premier Taptuna. "I would like to thank Mr. Mackey and Mr. Tarnow for their service as Deputy Heads and wish them well in their future endeavours."

Peter Ma, currently Deputy Minister of the Department of Health has been appointed to the position of QEC President.
