Nunavut Youth Ambassador Program

The Department of Community and Government Services’ (CGS) Sport and Recreation Division is now accepting applications for the Nunavut Youth Ambassador Program.

The Nunavut Youth Ambassador program is an opportunity for Nunavummiut between the ages of 16 and 21 to work alongside like-minded youth. Participants develop leadership skills through sport and recreation programs, training and volunteer opportunities within their communities, territory, and country. The program uses sport and recreation to promote respect, tolerance and foster inter-cultural awareness and relationships.

This program will provide participants the opportunity to:

  • Build leadership skills and life skills through training and volunteering.
  • Become more engaged within their community through volunteer and participation efforts.
  • Volunteer at special events which may include major games such as the Canada Summer Games.

The deadline for applications for the 2021-2022 program is September 17, 2021.
