Northern Premiers release Pan-territorial Chapter for Arctic and Northern Policy Framework

IQALUIT, NU (September 12, 2019) – In order to ensure that the pan-territorial context is well understood within the Arctic and Northern Policy Framework, territorial Premiers are releasing a Pan-Territorial chapter.

Located at https://www.gov.nu.ca/executive-and-intergovernmental-affairs/informatio..., the chapter emphasizes the political and economic region, including key opportunities and challenges that territories share.

The chapter was developed following engagement between territorial Premiers and federal leaders over the need for representation of the territories within the larger framework.

Each of the territories have been active in the release of the federal Arctic and Northern Policy Framework, and will be releasing their own chapters separately. All Northern Premiers agree that a strong Canada includes a strong, vibrant and well-resourced Arctic.
