Iqaluit, NU

The North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH) is May 4 to 10, 2014.

Minister Keith Peterson released the following statement:

"As the minister responsible for the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission, I am committed to promoting safety and health in Nunavut. It’s important to know how to work safely, and to realize the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace and at home.

"This year’s theme for NAOSH is Safety and Health: a Commitment for Life. Make Safety a Habit! I encourage all Nunavummiut to practice safety at work, at home and in their communities. Safety and health are a lifelong commitment; and it’s time to make them a priority."
