Carvings, crafts and qamutiit for sale at the Aaqqigiarvik Correctional Healing Facility

Beginning April 1, the Aaqqigiarvik Correctional Healing Facility (ACHF) in Iqaluit will re-open to the public for sales of crafts and carvings.

Doors will be open to the general public every Friday from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. All items are handmade by clients of the ACHF and the Nunavut Women’s Correctional Centre. Items for sale include soapstone carvings and other crafts.

ACHF clients participating in the Inuit cultural skills program have been learning how to make qamutiit and will have a few of these available for purchase.
