Boil Water Advisory lifted for Iqaluit

The Department of Health is advising the City of Iqaluit that the precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted for residents on both trucked and piped water.

The boil water advisory was a routine, temporary and precautionary measure to ensure safe water quality after the city switched its water delivery system to the bypass. Precautionary boil water advisories are issued anytime there is a significant change to the water treatment process.

After reviewing the past week of test results, the Department of Health has determined the bypass system’s water treatment process is delivering water that is safe to drink without boiling.
