Administration of practical and written tests for Class 7 and 5 licenses

The Department of Economic Development and Transportation (EDT) advises Nunavummiut that the RCMP will no longer administer practical and written tests for the Class 7 and 5 licenses starting January 1, 2018 in the Qikiqtani and Kivalliq regions, and July 1, 2018 in the Kitikmeot region.

If you are planning to do your written or practical Class 7 or Class 5 tests in the coming year, please email your name and community to: @email or contact your local Government Liaison Officer (GLO) no later than February 1, 2018.

A list will be created and used by EDT to develop a schedule for driver’s exams in communities throughout the territory. A schedule will be developed in early 2018 based on the number of people who have registered.

EDT is also exploring other options to ensure this important service continues and that Nunavummiut have access to driver license exams across the territory.

For more information, please contact your local GLO.
