Tourism Information

Tourism is an important component of Nunavut's economy. The department does its best to create an environment where tourism can flourish. To accomplish this goal, the Tourism and Cultural Industries division was created in 2010. It works with Nunavummiut to develop strong and sustainable tourism and cultural sectors throughout Nunavut. The division provides information and advice to businesses, supports community organizations, non-governmental organizations and sector associations. It also manages the implementation of the Government of Nunavut’s tourism development strategy.

Objectives

  • To provide quality advice and support to the Minister concerning tourism, arts and crafts, film, and performing arts.
  • To develop, lead and co-ordinate implementation of programs and strategies aimed at developing Nunavut’s tourism sector and cultural industries.
