Nunavut Housing Survey

On behalf of the Nunavut Housing Corporation, the Nunavut Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has undertaken a territorial Housing Needs Survey in partnership with Statistics Canada to fulfill data needs related to the housing situation in the territory.

Survey operations began in November 2009 and ended in June 2010. The survey collection was completed in all 25 communities of Nunavut. The NBS would like to thank all those who participated in the survey as well as all the survey interviewers who worked very hard to collect the data.

On October 23, 2010, the first set of results from the 2009/2010 Nunavut Housing Survey were released by the Nunavut Housing Corporation. At the end of January 2011, a second set of results from the survey were released by the Nunavut Bureau of Statistics.

The survey results are available on Fact Sheets, Data Tables, Backgrounder and the report entitled "Analysis of the Housing Needs in Nunavut". Other survey information related to methodology and questionnaires are also available. All these products can be accessed at the links provided below.
