Use caution when heading to Sylvia Grinnell River

Iqaluit drivers and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching the Sylvia Grinnell River near the end of the Iqaluit Airport runway.

Natural ground water seepage is occurring and flowing onto the road and parking lot 7, causing slippery and rough road conditions in this portion of Sylvia Grinnell Park.

Territorial Parks staff are applying gravel to make the road less slippery, however conditions are not expected to improve until temperatures drop further.
