GN workplaces are tobacco-free

The Government of Nunavut (GN) would like to remind Nunavummiut that all GN offices and workplaces are tobacco-free, in accordance with the Tobacco Control Act and Directive 1005 (Tobacco-Free Workplace) of the Human Resources Manual.

All forms of tobacco are prohibited, including electronic cigarettes and chewed tobacco. Tobacco consumption is also prohibited within three meters of any entrance or exit to a workplace, or 15 meters from a school.

However, smoking cessation aids (nicotine replacement therapy) are permitted in all GN workplaces. For information on smoking cessation, please visit www.nuquits.gov.nu.ca or speak to a health-care practitioner in your community.
