Creative contests for children and youth from Firearm Safety Nunavut

The Department of Justice is calling on children and youth to help spread the message of being safe with firearms, by entering in Qukiutiliritsiarniq Nunavummi – Firearm Safety Nunavut creative contests.

A colouring contest is open to Nunavummiut children aged four to nine. Youth aged 10 to 18 can enter a creative writing contest. Prizes include gaming consoles and gift cards. Winning entries will be displayed on the Government of Nunavut’s social media accounts and at the Community Justice Office in Iqaluit.

All contest entries will encourage secure use and storage of guns for the safety of our families and communities across Nunavut.

To print the colouring pages, get writing prompts, and for contest rules and how to enter, visit https://www.gov.nu.ca/justice/information/community-justice or your local Community Justice office.

To enter the contests, or for further information, contact project coordinator Rebecca Rowan-Tsannie at @email.

The deadline to enter is June 9, 2023.
