Boil Water Advisory for Sanirajak
Last updated Friday, November 10, 2023
The Department of Health is issuing a boil water advisory for the Hamlet of Sanirajak.
This is a precautionary measure after Total Coliform bacteria was detected during routine sampling.
During a boil water advisory, all water for consumption must be brought to a rolling boil
for a minimum of one full minute. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
It is essential that all water be boiled for the following uses:
- Drinking.
- Preparing infant formulas.
- Preparing juices, coffee, tea, and ice cubes.
- Washing fruits and vegetables.
- Cooking.
- Brushing of teeth.
Water can be boiled either in a pot or kettle on a stove or an electric kettle without an automatic shut-off.
It is not necessary to boil water used for anything other than the above list.
