Isumaqsunngittukuvik Young Offenders Facility (YO)
The Isumaqsunngittukuvik Young Offenders (YO) facility in Iqaluit provides custody and a variety of programs for young people charged with offences and/or sentenced to custody under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). The YO facility has been open since 1987.
The YO facility offers daily structure, programming, and educational opportunities for young clients looking to find their way in life, as well as culturally relevant land-based programming.

Nunavut Women’s Correctional Centre (NWCC)
The Nunavut Women’s Correctional Centre (NWCC) in Iqaluit opened in 2010.
NWCC provides care, custody, and control to low-, medium-, and high-risk female adult clients. The facility also provides programs and counseling, as well as culturally relevant land-based programming to its clients.

Aaqqigiarvik Correctional Healing Facility (ACHF)
The Aaqqigiarvik Correctional Healing Facility in Iqaluit opened in 2021.
ACHF offers behavioural, educational, traditional, and work programs for clients in custody and in the community to assist clients in making positive changes to their lives. Culturally relevant programming is available to clients through the Inuit Cultural Skills Program (ICSP) where clients learn traditional skills such as hunting, fishing, building tools and shelters.
ACHF offers all security levels of custody.

Rankin Inlet Healing Facility (RIHF)
The Rankin Inlet Healing Facility opened in 2013 and is located in Rankin Inlet, within the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut. RIHF accommodates both minimum and medium-security clients.
Clients at the facility participate in a variety of programming both inside and outside the facility such as land-based programming, anger management, elder counselling, and town crew.

Uttaqivik Community Residential Centre (CRC)
The Uttaqivik Community Residential Centre (CRC) in Iqaluit opened in 2002.
CRC is an open-custody, halfway house for adult male clients.
Uttaqivik is committed to facilitating the successful reintegration of offenders into their home communities using restorative justice practices. The centre emphasizes life skills development and healing through counselling.

Kugluktuk Ilavut Centre (KIC)
The Kugluktuk Ilavut Centre (KIC) opened in 2005 and is located in Kugluktuk, the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut.
KIC is an open custody, halfway house for adult male clients.
This facility’s focus is on personal wellness programing through daily routines, chores, cooking, cleaning or helping out in the shop and participating in land-based programming to gain experience and practice healthier life skills while earning daily incentive rates.
Clients meet with local mental health, and wellness counselors for further support and advice. Elder counselling is offered where clients can have one-on-one time with community elders, as well as a work release program where clients are hired to work at local stores, with the Hamlet or with local contractors.
