Summer Student Employment Equity Program

Summer Student Employment Equity Program (SSEEP)

The Government of Nunavut’s (GN) Summer Student Employment Equity Program (SSEEP)  is designed to provide opportunities for Nunavut Inuit and Nunavummiut students to gain meaningful work experience or training within the Nunavut public service. The SSEEP is an integral part of the GN’s goals to encourage continuous learning and to foster youth development. In support of the goals of Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement, priority consideration is given to Nunavut Inuit students.

The program's priorities are providing employment to students to develop skills and improve employment opportunities after graduation, while helping fund their education and encourage them to complete their studies. 

Additionally, the SSEEP allows for development of a pool of qualified candidates for future public service appointments. The program also includes orientation and evaluation components for quality assurance purposes.
