Psychiatric Nurse

This position provides expert mental health, addictions and concurrent disorder services to clients, families and the community, who have experienced several generations of cultural, emotional and physical trauma.  This position requires a strong background in Psychiatric Nursing, usually through at 3-5 years of relevant experience.  

The incumbent also collaborates with physicians, specialists, social services, RCMP, Homeless shelter, Women’s shelter, Community organizations, and other Government of Nunavut Departments such as Housing, Justice, Education and Income Support.

Manager, Maternal & Newborn Services

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Reporting to the Director of Health with guidance from the Territorial Maternal Newborn Health Services Coordinator, this position provides four (4) main functions:

Laboratory Technologist

The Qikiqtani General Hospital (QGH) in Iqaluit has an inpatient ward, an Emergency Department, and operating Room and several medical clinics. It is also the laboratory referral center for most residents of Nunavut.  The QGH provides health care services to adults and children on an inpatient/outpatient and outreach basis in order to restore health with dignity. 

Public Health Nurse, Public Health

We require a public health nurse to fill positions in various communities across Nunavut.  The incumbent of this position provides public health services to individuals and groups in the community in accordance with the public health program standards set by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH). Primary focus is on maternal/child health, school health, communicable disease and immunization programs.
