Reporting to the Manager Support Services, the incumbent coordinates and administers all procurement and acquisition activities and purchasing programs. The incumbent will manage the materials and assets requirements in the Kivalliq Region and will ensure there are standardized procedures, practices and policies related to procurement and acquisition, storage, safekeeping and that all GN regulations, directives, financial accounting and procedures are in compliance. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Support Services, the incumbent will work closely with all the staff of Department of Health and Social Services, in providing transportation, and deliveries of supplies.
In order to be invited to an interview, you will have Completion of Level 1 of the PMAC Professional Development Program or Grade 12 and 2 or more years of purchasing experience. Proficiency in the operation of computers - word processing, spreadsheet, internet, e mail, typing skills, and knowledge of computerized purchasing systems. Working Knowledge of GN Financial Administration Act, generally accepted accounting principles, tendering and contract law, medical terminology, NNI Policy and Procedures WHMIS regulations and Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations. Enrolment in a recognized purchasing program would be considered an asset along with the ability to speak Inuktitut
