Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee
The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee is a combined office that offers public guardian services and public trustee services.
The Public Guardian is responsible for advocating and making decisions for Nunavummiut who have been found to lack capacity in certain areas of their lives.
The Public Trustee helps settle the estates of deceased persons when no one else can do so. It may also administer the properties of minors and incapable adults under trusteeship.
