Halloween safety

Halloween is this Monday, and the Government of Nunavut would like to remind trick-or-treaters and drivers to stay safe and alert. Here are some helpful tips to keep everyone safe on Halloween:

  • Young children should be accompanied by an adult or older youth.
  • Look both ways before crossing the street.
  • Wear costumes or jackets that have reflectors, or carry a flashlight so vehicles can see you.
  • Only visit homes that have lights on.
  • Don’t go inside a stranger’s house.
  • Avoid eating treats that are unwrapped or look damaged or tampered with.
  • If you have to be out driving, go slowly and be extra alert for trick-or-treaters on the road.

Together, we can keep Halloween fun and safe!
