About Us

“Inuit knowledge, culture, language and history have undergone immense changes within the course of a few generations. The role of elders in sustaining and promoting oral and cultural traditions through our programs are important for future generations. We work towards ensuring that the Government of Nunavut preserves, develops and enhances Nunavut’s culture, heritage, and languages for all Nunavummiut.”

Hon. David Joanasie, Minister of Culture and Heritage,
