Department of Family Services Q&A, November 6, 11:30 a.m. update

Child and Family Services (CFS):

Are services for women in family violence situations impacted?

  • All CFS services provided by Community Social Services Workers (CSSW) continue without disruptions, including services for women and their children who are victims of violence.

Income Assistance:

How do I receive food vouchers if there is not an Income Assistance Worker (IAW) in my community?

  • In Chesterfield Inlet, Grise Fiord and Resolute Bay clients should contact their Regional Offices - same as they currently do for their regular assessments.

What is the status of food vouchers being issued in Sanikiluaq?

  • The IAW met with the local stores and have received food vouchers on November 5. Clients will need to meet with the IAW and will be able to then take the voucher to the store to be redeemed.
