Innosar John Issakiark, a Grade 12 student from John Arnalukjuak High School in Arviat, has been named a recipient of the 2013 TD Scholarship for Community Leadership, one of Canada’s top merit scholarships.
Following almost three years of public engagement involving communities, Inuit organizations, the private sector and government, the Nunavut Legislative Assembly passed Bill 59 – the Collaboration for Poverty Reduction Act.
Today the General Court of the European Union ruled to uphold the European Union’s seal ban in the face of a legal challenge by a group of plaintiffs led by Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) and the Fur Institute of Canada.
