Iqaluit International Airport Emergency Exercise
Iqaluit, Nunavut (June 21, 2022) – The Iqaluit International Airport will test its emergency response plan with a mock emergency exercise on Wednesday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The purpose of the exercise is to test the effectiveness of the airport’s Emergency Response Plan and to ensure that all responding agencies’ efforts are well-coordinated in the event of a real incident. Participating agencies will include the RCMP, the Iqaluit City Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), NavCanada, and local media outlets.
This exercise will be restricted to a closed airport area, and no impact to regular operations is anticipated.
Thursday, June 23, will be a backup day in the event of inclement weather.
