Regional Manager, Children and Family Services

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Regional Manager, Children and Family Services is accountable to ensure that the wide range of social programs provided by Community Social Service Workers meet the needs of the client groups in a rapidly growing and changing environment and conforms to the established standards and regulations; and advancing professional practice competency with the social service work staff. This position also represents the Region and the Department at various committees, tasks forces and working groups at the regional level.
The Regional Manager, Children & Family Services will provide strong professional leadership and direction to all Community Social Service Workers and subordinate staff.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through ann undergraduate Degree in Social Work, and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a relevant field, preferably with demonstrated practice in the child welfare field and 4 years’ experience management/supervisor experience in the Social Service/Human Services field.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut (Inuinnaqtun), English and French.
Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
