Nunavut Arctic College is a multi-campus institution designed to provide a wide range of education services to adult learners of Nunavut.
The College is seeking an individual to provide instruction in the Inuktitut Language Program. Duties will include the development, delivery and evaluation of Inuit Language courses in the program. Program delivery will be at the Nunatta Campus in Iqaluit and the incumbent may be required to teach additional courses in the Inuit Languages and Culture division as required.
The incumbent will develop and deliver instruction to meet student needs and the standards set by the College. Assisting in the ongoing growth and development of the program and maintaining and advancing professional knowledge and skills are ongoing priorities. It is mandatory for the incumbent to be proficient in the Inuit Language and is required to meet the multi-facetted training needs of students. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring the quality of instructional materials produced by the program.
Successful applicants are required to have the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education;
- A Certificate in Adult Education is an asset;
- Two years related teaching/instruction experience;
- Experience teaching and supervising adult learners is an asset; and
- Fluency (written and oral) in Inuktitut is required.
An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
