Reporting to the Supervision of the Manager, Finance & Administration, and the incumbent is responsible for ensuring efficient and consistent day to day administrative, financial and clerical support to the Cape Dorset office in the Qikiqtaaluk Region. The Incumbent is responsible for a wide range of administrative, human resources, and financial accounting process, supporting various departmental sections. The accurate acceptance, verifications, processing, and reporting of documents is essential to maintain an effective and efficient document processing team, of which you would be a key member.

The incumbent is required to be familiar, and to comply, with the requirements of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the requirements of the Financial Administration Act (FAA), the Financial Administration Manual (FAM), Collective Agreements (CA’s), the Human Resources Manual (HRM), employee handbooks, and also any other Directives as issued and in effect. The Qikiqtaaluk Region of CGS has responsibilities covering thirteen communities, which results in a busy and varied level of work.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of grade 12 or equivalent education to meet the required communication and mathematical skills. The incumbent should have a completion of clerical training course and minimum of one year related office experience.

Fluency in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun will be considered an asset for this position.

Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
