Under the direction of the Home Care Nurse or Program Supervisor, the Home and Community Care Worker II assists clients in activities of basic personal care to maintain independence and functioning in their home environment.
The Home & Community Care Worker II is a member of the Home and Community Care Program and provides a key link to observe the client’s condition and any changes in their support network. Plans and prepares nourishing meals and special diets as required. This may include providing client specialized care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, providing medication reminders, etc. The Home & Community Care Worker II will ensure all client, family and program information, records and communication are treated with strict confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will have the Home and Community Care Worker Level 2 Certificate. Also possess the current CPR and First Aid Certificates, be a mature individual who can work independently and under indirect supervision, have the ability to read and write in English/Inuktitut. Two (2) years related experience is considered an asset.
This position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union and has a starting hourly rate of $29.85, plus a Northern Allowance of $12.42, plus a Bilingual Bonus of $0.77 per hour.
