Joanna Quassa was elected in the general election held on October 25, 2021, to represent the constituency of Aggu in the 6th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. Ms. Quassa was elected to serve on the Executive Council during the November 17, 2021, proceedings of the Nunavut Leadership Forum. She was formally sworn into office on November 19, 2021. She serves as Minister of Environment and Minister of Nunavut Arctic College.
