The Department of Community and Government Services’ Sport and Recreation Division is proud to support the academic endeavors of Nunavut students pursuing careers in physical education, kinesiology, sport administration, sport sciences, or recreation.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all Nunavut students enrolled or accepted into post-secondary programs in physical education, kinesiology, sport administration, sport sciences, or recreation at recognized colleges or universities.
  • Scholarship Benefits: Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership in the community, and demonstrated passion for advancing sport and recreation in Nunavut.

Application Process

  • Application Deadline: Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are due by Monday, May 20, 2024.
  • How to Apply: To apply for the Sport and Recreation Scholarship, please follow these steps:
    • Request an Application Package: email [email protected] to receive your application and information package.
    • Complete the Application: Fill out the application form included in your package. Be sure to attach all required documents, such as proof of enrollment, academic transcripts, and a personal statement.
    • Submit Your Application: Send your completed application by email to the above address or mail it to the provided postal address.

Support Documents

  • Required Documents:
    • Proof of enrollment in a qualifying program.
    • Recent academic transcripts.
    • Personal statement outlining your contributions to sport and recreation and your career goals.
    • Letter of recommendation (optional but recommended).
