The Department of Health is declaring that the pertussis (whooping cough) outbreak in Nunavut is over. This was the second outbreak in the territory in the past year. Whooping cough is a disease of the throat and lungs that spreads very easily from person.
The protection of Nunavut’s archaeological heritage for future generations is a responsibility shared between the government, the Inuit Heritage Trust (IHT) and Nunavummiut.
The Department of Health advises residents of Cape Dorset that the community-wide tuberculosis (TB) prevention screening clinic will open on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
