Transferring a Liquor Licence

A liquor licence can only be transferred from one licence holder to another. It cannot be transferred to other premises. If a liquor licence is required for different premises, a new application must be made.

The Board considers transfer applications at the meeting following their receipt. The Board’s decision is communicated in writing to the applicant immediately thereafter.

The Board may require certain conditions to be met before the licence can be transferred. These conditions are communicated in writing to the applicant and the time by which the conditions must be met is set out in the Board’s written communication.
