Finance Administrative Officer

This Position is located at the Kitikmeot Main Campus building and reports directly to the CFO and functionally to the college Registrar and Dean, Health and wellness designates. The Position performs and oversees a variety of administrative and financial functions, including registrar functions for the campus. In support of the registrar functions, this position will coordinate the selections, registrations, academic record keeping and convocation of the learners who participate in programs connected to the campus. 

The position has commitment and payment authority on all expenditures for the administration office of Kitikmeot campus, up to $50,000 per transaction. In addition, in the absence of persons with spending authority, this position has spending authority on all transactions related to the administration office of Kitikmeot campus up to $50,000 per transaction. This position also supervises subordinate staff including casual, relief, and summer student contracts. The position is also the lead contact for Kitikmeot campus for verifying financial assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS) information received from the department of Family Services, prior to entry in the college student information system. The position participates in establishing, implementing and enforcing college academic policies.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized undergraduate degree Management studies Information Systems, Business administration, Education or a diploma in the above related field with a combination of 3 years’ experience in related field.  

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
