Dental Program Support Clerk
This employment opportunity is restricted to Nunavut Inuit who reside in Iqaluit only.
Reporting to the Regional Dental Coordinator, the Dental Program Support Clerk (Clerk) provides clerical and administrative support to the dental service division in accordance with GN policies and procedures, current NIHB agreement; current contracts with service providers; to ensure smooth operation and facilitation of Dental services.
The position is responsible for managing office procedures and overseeing operational factors to ensure the smooth functioning of the Dental Program by verifying invoices, preparing invoices and ensuring that Dental Claim forms are filled out correctly when submitted by dental staff. The Clerk will also process prior and or post approvals to and from predetermination center in Ottawa as well as returning rejected claims to providers for correction. Other duties may include answering phones, maintaining an incoming telephone log, and delivering messages in a professional, courteous and tactful manner as well as greeting visitors and advising staff that they have arrived.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a high school diploma along with (1) one year of experience in an office environment. This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in Inuktut is required for the position. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
