Hivuliqtikhanut Program - Emerging Leaders' Series

Hivuliqtikhanut Program – Leadership Development Program
Emerging Leaders’ Series

The Government of Nunavut (GN) has introduced a program to build and sustain leadership capacity. The Hivuliqtikhanut Program is a leadership development program that provides modular, classroom-based learning for three distinct levels (series): emerging leaders, supervisors and senior managers. The leadership development program is offered to all GN departments and territorial corporations.

The Emerging Leaders’ Series consists of seven three-day modules delivered in Rankin Inlet between October 2017 and June 2018. To successfully complete the Emerging Leaders’ Series will require commitment from the participant, their supervisor and their department as a whole.

Eligibility: The Government of Nunavut (GN) is committed to a representative workforce and supporting Inuit employees to develop successful careers in the public service. This delivery of the Emerging Leaders’ Series will be restricted to term and indeterminate Inuit employees.  Participants in the Emerging Leaders’ Series will include program or project managers with less than two years’ of experience and motivated employees with potential to become managers or supervisors within two years. Participants may have team leadership responsibilities but do not yet supervise others.
