Get ready for Uqausirmut Quviasuutiqarniq 2023, the annual celebration of Inuktut language and culture in Nunavut! This year it’s happening in April!

The theme for this year is 'Qulliq,' the traditional Inuit oil lamp that has been used for thousands of years. The qulliq enabled our ancestors to survive in harsh conditions and reflects the warmth of Inuit culture and community.

Throughout the event, the Department of Culture and Heritage, in partnership with other Government of Nunavut departments, will be promoting a variety of activities and resources to celebrate Inuktut.
