Advanced Policy Training Program

English

The Advanced Policy Training Program is a specialized professional development program designed for the Government of Nunavut (GN), based on the issues, structures and processes of the GN. It combines dynamic, interactive training with many activities, discussions and exercises designed to build strong policy skills and all the participants.

The Advanced Policy Training level is open to Inuit and non-Inuit GN employees with policy experience or who have completed Policy Training.

The skills participants will practice are:

Policy Foundations Program

English

The Policy Foundations Program is a specialized professional development program designed for the Government of Nunavut (GN), based on the issues, structures and processes of the GN. It combines dynamic, interactive training with many activities, discussions and exercises designed to build strong policy skills and all the participants.

The Policy Foundations level is open only to Inuit. No experience in policy development is necessary. 

The skills participants will practice are:

Nunavut History and Governance

English

A survey of Nunavut’s incredible history, this course is a primer in Nunavut governance and culture, with strong emphasis on the Nunavut Agreement (NA). Ideal for all employees, this course enables participants to better understand the structure of the Government of Nunavut, as well as the functions of its departments and the roles of the numerous boards, agencies, and other organizations created under the NA.

Iqaluit Parks Day 2019

All across Canada, Canadians celebrate their federal, provincial and territorial parks during the third week of July. Due to weather in Iqaluit, Parks Day was postponed and will now take place on Saturday, July 27, 2019.
