Student Support and Wellness

Student Achievement is responsible for providing services within an inclusive education model expressly designed to meet the needs of Nunavut’s students. Services for school-aged children are essential and include supports, programs, resources, assessment, interventions and training. The division is also responsible for informing policies, procedures and guidelines that support schools to meet the full range of learner needs and to ensure that staff are supported to implement inclusive approaches to education.

The division collaborates with parents, among a broad range of partners, to improve school success for all students. Currently the division is working to establish a multi-tiered, child-focused, integrated-service delivery approach to the provision of services to all school-aged Nunavummiut. This is important to the Department’s role in promoting student achievement and instructional success.
