Iqaluit priority group COVID-19 vaccinations

Beginning January 18, Iqaluit Public health will begin vaccinations for priority groups in Iqaluit. Elders aged 65 or older and anyone living in shelters are invited to book appointments by calling 867-975-4810.

Clinics will be held at Iqaluit Public Health, building 1091 Monday, January 18 to Friday, January 22 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Another clinic will be held on the clinic side of Qikiqtani General Hospital on Saturday, January 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Following these steps can help stop the spread of COVID-19, and other respiratory illnesses:

  • Stay home when you feel sick.
  • Cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash right away.
  • Keeping distance from others when out and about.
  • Don’t smoke indoors or around others, especially babies.

Social distancing, hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning practices will be in place to help keep everyone healthy. For the protection of yourself and the community, we encourage you to wear your own mask to your appointment.
