Reporting to the District Director, Kivalliq; The Property Management Officer is responsible to manage, maintain and administer leased, and owned residential staff housing property located in the Kivalliq District on behalf of the Government of Nunavut. The officer will coordinate between the Nunavut Housing Corporation (NHC) District office, headquarters and other government departments, private landlords and occupants to facilitate and maintain a harmonious working relationship in the completion of projects, operation and maintenance of properties.

The position provides service to the client departments and staff requiring residential accommodations. The Property Management Officer is responsible for monitoring all properties to ensure the buildings are operated and maintained safely and properly.

The incumbent will act as the Chair of the Kivalliq Staff Housing Allocation Committee to coordinate and allocate staff housing throughout the Kivalliq District.

The ideal candidate will have completed the Real Property Administrator Designation or post-secondary education in business administration with 3 years related work in property management.

Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset.

Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatugangit is an asset.
