As per HRM Directive 518, this employment opportunity is restricted to Nunavut Inuit only.

This position is located in Iqaluit and is responsible for the movement, disposal, and inventory of Government of Nunavut (GN) Staff Housing furniture in city of Iqaluit on behalf of the Nunavut Housing Corporation.  The Corporation is responsible for delivery of the GN Staff Housing program on behalf of the Government of Nunavut. The Corporation administers over 650 owned and leased GN Staff Housing units in Iqaluit.

Under the direction of the Tenant Relations Officer, the incumbent is responsible for the movement and coordination of Staff Housing furnishings and appliances for the NHC, on behalf of the Government of Nunavut. The position will coordinate with the Tenant Relations Officer for placement of furnishings in GN Staff housing units, removal of old and damaged furniture, and the disposal of such items. The incumbent will also be responsible for the inventory and organization of the NHC furniture warehouse and will assist the Tenant Relations Officer with general office duties when not handling tenant furniture and appliance issues.

One (1) year experience directly related Warehousing and delivery of goods and services is mandatory. The incumbent must also possess a valid Nunavut Driver’s license. Computer literate; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Basic office skills relating to filing and record keeping; Ability to plan and implement the delivery of furniture/appliances on a daily basis; Extensive lifting and moving of furniture on a regular basis; and Ability to multi-task and set priorities are required.

The ideal candidate will have Grade eleven (11). Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Ability to speak Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, or French is considered an asset and this position may be eligible for a Bilingual Bonus of $1500 per annum. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
