The Housekeeper provides general housekeeping, laundry, and linen services to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility to improve appearance and reduce the risk of infection and disease.
Reporting to the Registered Nurse Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping and laundry of the facility. Housekeeping and laundry duties are provided for the patients, and other workers as assigned. The position has direct impact on the public’s eye on cleanliness, appearance and overall health of the facility.
The incumbent should have completed Grade 8 and have at least One (1) year of housekeeping and/or laundry experience in commercial or institutional setting; have a valid driver’s license and the be fluent in Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun and English.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, English and French.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
