Reporting to the Supervisor, Health Programs, the department of Health is looking for an individual who will provide janitorial and security duties as well as routine building, equipment and vehicle maintenance. Including general assistance such as interpreting as needed, courier services and to ensure the Health Centre is kept running smoothly. The individual will also function as a member of the health care team. This position has a direct impact on the public’s eye on general maintenance and security of the Health Center.

The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through completion of Grade 12 and the completion of appropriate training programs. WHIMIS Training and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training are also required. X-Ray Course and training is considered an asset and you must also possess a valid driver’s license. Fluency in Inuktitut and English, both verbal and written is required including computer skills in Microsoft Office, e-mail, excel spreadsheet and outlook calendar.

The incumbent must have one year of basic mechanical or carpentry experience and be a mature, responsible, dependable independent person. You must also be capable of lifting medium/heavy items as well as the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and have an interest in the community and be willing to help.

Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
