| The Government of Nunavut, as the employer, is committed to providing a safe working environment for all of its employees. The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) under the direction of the Safety Act directs the employer to ensure that Occupational Health and Safety Committees are in place to review local working conditions and make recommendations to the employer. |

This employer provides ongoing training to employees serving on the Occupational Health and Safety Committees; supports the timely reporting of all incidents, accidents and near misses; assists with Risk Assessments of the working environment and provides training to meet standards in support of providing a safe working environment including First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The employer works with WCB to protect workers injured on the job and coordinate Return-to-Work and Accommodation plans.
