Food recall warnings – sunflower seed products and chocolate milk

The Department of Health is warning about food recalls on the following products: Atkins bars containing sunflower seeds, Kashi Trail Mix Whole Grain Bars, Bassé and President’s Choice products containing sunflower seeds, and Neilson partly skimmed chocolate milk.

The products are recalled due to possible contamination with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness. Most people do not need to see a health care provider because they get better quickly. But high risk groups, like pregnant women, Elders and people with weakened immune systems, should see a health care provider if they have these symptoms.

All recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.
