Gambling

Gambling means risking money or something of value on events that are up to chance. This could be small or large amounts of money.

Examples of gambling include lottery tickets, bingo, Nevadas, Patik, card games, dice games, internet gambling, sports betting, etc.

Someone close to you might have a gambling problem if money or valuables go missing and debts are increasing.

For some, gambling can easily become an addiction.

Help is available. If you think that you or someone you know might have a gambling problem, call or visit your local health centre. You can also talk to someone you trust – a family member, teacher, Elder or wellness counselor, or call the Kamatsiaqtut Help Line for support: (867) 979-3333 or toll free at (800) 265-3333.
