New Wildlife Regulations

On July 1 2015, the Government of Nunavut Department of Environment is implementing new regulations under the Wildlife Act. The regulations change some of the rules for harvesting in Nunavut, and may affect those involved in wildlife-related businesses, wildlife research, or other fields where wildlife or wildlife habitat could be impacted.

For more information about the new regulations and what they mean to you, please click here for a plain language guide to the new regulations. Alternatively, the complete regulations can be found in the May, Part II edition of the Nunavut Gazette (English and French only).

In addition, a list of all the new fee schedules can be found here

For further information and guidance, please talk to your local conservation officer: wildlife office contact details can be found here.

The plain language guide is also available in Inuktitut and French.
