As part of the Nunavut Fisheries Strategy Renewal process, the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Environment is holding a public consultation in Iqaluit tonight, Thursday, February 20, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Navigator Inn.
The goal of the consultation is to hear concerns, ideas and priorities of Nunavummiut as they relate to fisheries and the future development of fisheries.
The reaffirmation follows the partners’ previous support for the jury recommendations of the 2015 coroner’s inquest into the high rates of suicide in Nunavut.
