Attend the upcoming caribou consultation in your community to share your thoughts about caribou management and conservation on Baffin Island!

Representatives from the Government of Nunavut, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board, and the QikiqtaalukWildlife Board will visit eight Baffin Island communities in January to discuss the current state of caribou on Baffin Island and possible conservationmeasures to support their return in greater numbers.

Consultations are seeking input in three important areas: development of community-basedmanagement initiatives; development of a long-term Baffin Island Caribou Management Plan; and how communities can support ground surveys and provide expert Inuit knowledge, to support an island-wide aerial survey.
